दरिया (dariya)

बुल्लेया की जाना मैं कौन
to me, I am not known
न मैं मोमिनविच मसीताँ
Not a believer inside the mosque
न मैं कुफर दीयँ रीताँ
Nor a pagan disciple of false rites
न मैं पाकाँ विच पलीताँ
Not the pure amongst the impure
न मैं मूसा न फरहौन
Neither Moses, nor the Pharoh

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन

न मैं अन्दर वेद किताबाँ
Not in the holy Vedas,
न विच भंगाँ ना शराबा
Nor in opium, neither in wine
न विच रिन्दाँ मसत खराबाँ
Not in the drunkard`s intoxicated craze
न विच जागाँ ना विच सौं
Niether awake, nor in a sleeping daze

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन

ना विच शादी ना घमनाकी
In happiness nor in sorrow, am I
ना मैं विच पलीती पाकी
Neither clean, nor a filthy mire
ना मैं आबी ना मैं खाकी
Not from water, nor from earth
ना मैं आतिश न मैं पावँ
Neither fire, nor from air, is my birth

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन

ना मैं अरबी ना लाहौरी
Not an Arab, nor Lahori
ना मैं शहर नगौरी
Neither Hindi, nor Nagauri
न हिन्दू न तुरक पेशावरी
Hindu, Turk (Muslim), nor Peshawari
न मैं रैन्दा विच नदौँ
Nor do I live in Nadaun

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन

ना मैं भेद मजहब दा पाया
Secrets of religion, I have not known
ना मैं आदम हव्वा जाया
From Adam and Eve, I am not born
ना मैं अपना नाम धराया
I am not the name I assume
ना विच बैठाँ ना विच भौं
Not in stillness, nor on the move

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन

अव्वल आखिर आप न जाना
I am the first, I am the last
न कोई दूजा होर पेहचाना
None other, have I ever known
मैं थों होर ना कोई सयाना
I am the wisest of them all
बुल्लेया ! ओ खद्दा है कौन ?

बुल्लेया ! की जाना मैं कौन
